Dear esteemed Alumni

I hope this message finds you in best of your health and spirit. During this unprecedented crises created due to pandemic all of you are in my thoughts and my prayers are with you and your family. I am sure that you must be contributing your best in the service of the nation at this critical juncture.

Your Alma Mater has all along been committed to national services and a contribution of Rs. 11 lakh was made in CM’s Relief Fund by our Hon’ble Chancellor as a token of our solidarity to fight against the deadly virus.

Your University has made rapid strides ever since the foundation of this temple of wisdom was laid down in August, 2002 with Law College Dehradun being the maiden institute. It was just a beginning ushering in addition of a host of other institutions over the years in Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, Polytechnic, Applied and Life Sciences, Agriculture, Hospitality Management, Media & Communication Studies and Liberal Arts blossoming into full-fledged status of a University established in 2013 under an Act of Govt. of Uttarakhand and duly approved by UGC under section 2(f) of UGC Act, 1956.

I am sure you all have such countless memories in your treasure and also the bond you developed with your alma mater, your friends and classmates, pristine environment of Dehradun, and above all, Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand.

Even an angled viewpoint towards the achievements of the alumni of your alma mater makes me delighted to boast that in the recent years it has added its presence in some of the top MNC/Corporate like Amazon, Infosys, TCS, Hitachi Consulting, Capgemini, Cognizant, Trident Group, HCL Technologies, Wipro, Click Labs, and many other well-known names through strong alumni like you contributing their skills, knowledge, and learnings andplayingcrucial roles in adding more and more companies ensuring better placements year after year. Law College Dehradun has exhibited a rare feat of excellence in more than 50 of students getting selected in Judicial services including 39 Judges serving in different states of the country, one in Nepal, one in the Indian Army and one in the Indian Navy. During the recent years gone by 528 students of Engineering, 310 from management, 151 form IT, 20 from Law, 56 from Pharmacy, 79 from UG and 30 from PG have been placed to some top-notch industries and corporate. It’s all because every faculty of the university is dedicated to research and innovation adding values to academic spectrum and as a consequence, Uttaranchal University has emerged as a most preferred destination for pursuit of higher education.You have been a constant pillar of support and a great source of inspiration to our students who are looking forward for your guidance and support.

I consider every new student in the university as an extension of our family. Hence, there is no better way to keep our memories alive and our bonds tied as well as our affinity strengthened than being an ever active part of this intellectual edifice – Uttaranchal University. Alumni’s Association. This, in fact, is your association. I encourage and exhort you to join it so as to be an integral part of the same and enjoy opportunities thereon. I also cherish the golden moment of your contribution to your Alma Mater in the academic development.

I would like to thank you all for on-going support to our efforts. You are our best advocates and ambassadors and are key members of the University.

In a complex and anxious world, your University exhibits an unstoppable force of knowledge and understanding for churning out a brigade of ‘change leaders’ for more inclusive community and for the betterment of our shared world.

Let us join today and keep as well as create lifelong memories and exciting experiences. Your alma mater is restive to see a strong and powerful bondage further cemented with you.
